Engagement Photos

Matt and I had our engagement photo shoot last weekend and the pictures are amazing. We were so pleased with our photographer and if anyone in the Boston area is looking for a wedding photographer, I will gladly give you her information.

P.S. Hello to all the new people that stopped by my blog today! One comment on a well known blog and you get visits! Thanks, Janae!

Concerned

Okay, this might not seem like a big deal to many people, but I need to express my concern.

Matt and I move on Saturday morning and we have 20 amazing friends and family helping us move. My parents made a big pot of stew and soup. Desserts are being made and beer is being purchased. All seems fine and dandy, right?

No. Two things are weighing on my mind.
1: We are moving an hour away from Boston and there are NO fro-yo places near by. Matt and I have gone twice this week and we plan on going tonight and tomorrow night, just so I can get my last fix in.
2: Remember that big closet I wrote about? Well, there are no shelves or racks in there. Since Matt and I are purchasing the house brand new, the closet is just blank open space. What the heck am I going to do? How can I convince Matt that I REALLY someone to come in and fix my closet up? Yeah, I know, its not going to happen.

Does anyone else have any concerns lately? Mine are rather minimal, but are there other concerns out there that you have?

The Color Run

I can't wait! My friends and I signed up for this run that is taking place in Amesbury, MA. I do not plan on making amazing timing, I am mostly doing this for the experience with my best friends. I plan on getting covered in paint from head to toe and having a blast with my ladies.

I have one simple fear. What if I open my mouth and accidentally swallow some of the paint?

Buying a Treadmill (dreadmill)

As you might know, Matt and I recently purchased a new house. It is about 45 minutes south of Boston which makes the commute a bit longer but it is exactly what we are looking for. I really enjoy having guests over and the kitchen is perfect for entertaining guests.

But, as beautiful as the house is, its in the middle of nowhere. A mile down the street is a state park that has beautiful trails but our road has no sidewalks and it is a winding road. So, we decided that it would not be safe to run early in the morning on our road, and it would not be safe to run the trails at five in the morning alone, and because of this we purchased a treadmill. I am not very excited to run on a treadmill but I know that it is a better idea.

If you are a runner, what do you prefer? Running outside or inside?

One year later...

One year ago, Matt proposed to me while on vacation in D.C. We were walking along the Potomac River and he pointed to a field of daffodil's that were in full bloom. After a few minutes, Matt walked over to me and proposed in an extremely romantic way. So, for Spring break, we decided to relive the moment and head back down to D.C. As cheesy as this might sound, we reenacted the whole day and it was amazing. Here is a photo from the same daffodil field that he proposed in...

Kiss My Fannie, Fannie Mae

I’m going to be overly dramatic for a minute here. Please excuse me while I go outside and scream, stomp my feet, and throw snow at random people.  Brushes hands off. Much, much better.

Ahem.

Purchasing a home is driving me MAD.  Why is it so difficult? Why are there bidding wars going on for a home that has been on the market for 3 months? Why is the bank taking FOREVER to get back to us on our final offer?  Shouldn’t purchasing a home be a bit more pleasant than this? Matt and I are really about to throw in the towel on this particular house that we want. It has all of the criteria that we are looking for but we feel like the bank is dragging us around in circles. We put an offer in on the house on Tuesday and the next day we hear there is a bidding war going on and they want us to put in our best offer AGAIN. Are they doing this just to make more money off the house? Are there really that many people putting down offers on this house?

I’m really trying to think positive but I would hate to see this house slip through our fingers, we just know that putting down more than we can afford would not benefit us at all.  So, in the meantime, we sit here quietly and wait for an answer. Well, Matt is pretty calm about it, but I think I need to go throw some more snow.
